Laura’s Cheap Trick #28

Take a Fresh Look at Your Auto-Pay Plans.

Netflix, credit card insurance/credit score maintenance plans, we sign up for them and use them so diligently for the first 2-6 months..then a vacation pops up, next come the holidays and we stop using the service like we did at one point.  Make a note in your (free) electronic calendar program to remind you to review all the various plans that are on automatic payment from a bank account or credit card and ask yourself if you are really using this plan to it’s fullest.  If the answer is no.  Then consider going back to purchasing the product on an as-needed basis.  Or lowering your monthly plan to a lower level.

Again mark that calendar with the dates a week out from their automatic renewals.  If you sign up for a month free.  Mark it in the calendar to cancel or keep before the month is out. Many plans will charge you for a year up front with no refunds.  Don’t get caught buying a year when you intended to cancel.
