Laura’s Cheap Trick #60

Halloween Costumes…

When I was a kid…All costumes were home made and very few store bought and the store bought costumes were cheap flimsy things with a plastic face mask.  Since I have had my own child the tide has turned and the home made costumes fallen aside to those higher quality productions (often made in china perhaps with child labor).

Aphrodite, the Hobo and the Hippy

Parents Unite…you do not need to buy a costume to be creative and have high quality.  Old boxes and paint make great unusual inanimate objects.  (Dice, toilets, trees) Fabric sitting in your sewing bin make a great wrap for a ninja or Aphrodite costume.  And trust me with the way my schedule works it is easier to create the costume at home with what we have then run around town finding something new…

NOTE: Once accessory that is a must.  Glow sticks.  Make sure they are visible in the dark.
