Know your rights!
Now is the season for travel. Airlines, especially have implemented a number of fees and rules attached to those fees. What is worse is they vary from airline to airline. The best time to find out and print out your rights is when you buy the ticket. But if you did that and now misplaced them, or forgot and are heading to the airport tomorrow…look them up and print out a cheat sheet with your rights.
How many checked bags or carry-ons are free, can you check a stroller at the gate, does a diaper bag or a purse count as a carry-on? How early do you need to check in. When does the airport open? (They will tell you to arrive 2-3 hours prior to the flight but the airport may not open until 5am so don’t show up at 4am for your 6am flight because you will spend an hour waiting for the TSA agents to arrive to work. Why print out the rules? Because many of the agents don’t know the latest rules and it’s easier to show them.
Look them up for all the airlines/countries you are traveling through. What is true for one region is not true for another.
Don’t forget the 3-1-1 (3oz containers, in a 1 quart bag, 1 per person-exceptions for baby formula/breast milk) TSA Link Here.
